Our Environmental Policy Statement

Waste Diversion Goal:

Our goal is to divert more than 95% of waste from our office, warehouse, and client site operations away from landfills—because real progress starts with responsible action.

Employee Training

Every Connectivitywerx team member receives comprehensive training on our Environmental Program to ensure they understand our goals and actively contribute to our sustainability efforts.

Recycling Initiatives

As part of our broader commitment to sustainability, we actively divert a wide range of materials from landfills through responsible recycling, reuse, and resource recovery practices.

Connectivitywerx is committed to minimizing our environmental impact through proactive recycling, reuse, and waste reduction across all areas of our business. We continuously strive to operate in a way that protects the planet and fosters a culture of sustainability, with the full engagement of our team.

Paper Products: includes all types of paper, including office documents, packaging materials, and securely shredded paper, which is collected separately for proper processing

Metals: We recycle all ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including copper-based cabling from both internal operations and client sites, reducing raw material extraction and supporting circular economy principles

Electronic Waste (E-Waste): Phones, computers, printers, monitors, and related devices are responsibly recycled through certified e-waste programs. When possible, components are refurbished or reused before final recycling.

Plastic Bags and Styrofoam: These challenging materials are collected separately to prevent contamination of other recyclables and are sent to specialized facilities for appropriate processing.

Cabling Industry Waste: We divert obsolete or surplus electronic and cable components, including connectors and wiring, from landfill through disassembly and material recovery efforts.

Wood Pallets: Used pallets are either reused internally or sent to pallet exchange and repair services to maximize their lifespan and minimize waste.

Light Bulbs and Lamps: Fluorescent tubes, LED bulbs, and other lighting components are collected and sent to hazardous waste programs to recover rare materials and prevent mercury contamination.

Batteries: Spent batteries from electronics and tools are collected in designated bins and sent to certified facilities for safe recycling of metals and chemicals.

These initiatives support our goal of reducing our environmental footprint and contributing to a more sustainable, circular economy. We continuously evaluate and expand our recycling practices to align with emerging standards and technologies.

Environmental Initiatives and Achievements:

We actively recycle a wide range of materials, including:

95%+ Waste Diversion: Since June 2015, we have consistently diverted over 95% of our waste from landfills through comprehensive recycling and reuse programs.

Eco-Conscious Purchasing: We prioritize the procurement of environmentally friendly office supplies, recycled materials, and low-emission equipment whenever possible.

Support for Telecommuting: By enabling employees to work remotely via Virtual Private Network (VPN), we reduce commuting-related emissions and promote work-life balance.

Paper Reduction Strategy: A shift toward digital documentation and cloud-based systems has significantly reduced our internal paper usage over the last decade

Energy Efficient Lighting Upgrades (2012): With support from our local hydro utility, we upgraded our office and warehouse lighting to energy-efficient systems, significantly lowering electricity usage and improving workplace lighting quality.

Environmental Awareness & Engagement: We encourage employee participation in green initiatives, including waste sorting, Earth Day activities, and carpooling programs.

Sustainable Office Renovation and Expansion (2015): During our 2015 expansion, we achieved a 99% recycling rate of construction waste. We also reused existing materials, including doors and ceiling panels, and installed LED lighting throughout the new space.

Lifecycle Equipment Management: Obsolete IT and network equipment is refurbished, repurposed, or recycled responsibly through certified partners to minimize e-waste.

"We embrace the principle of sustainability – environmental, economic, and social well-being for today and tomorrow. We believe in development that meets our current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own"
